Another Foot Crisis

My FACEBOOK status yesterday...I am so sad, frustrated and in pain! My foot started hurting on the way to the car, after 2 hours at the Zoo. Stuck with the plan to swim afterward and the pain was so bad, I could barely walk. Went to the Minor Emergency Clinic and spent $210 to find out my foot is not broke, but they have no idea why I am in sooo much pain. I am definitely voting for Health Care reform...

I have had an emotionally challenging week and have burst into tears EVERY day for 2 weeks. Today, it occurred when the nurse brought me an ace bandage and told me that they would not charge me. I am sure they would have paid me to just leave!!! What really infuriates me is that there is one price for those who do not have insurance and a price of three times more for those who do!!! That is wrong!!!

I am confined to me bed and still furious...we make to much money to get state coverage, but not enough to afford decent medical coverage. I am sure after I take the narcotics they prescribed, since, they did not know what else to do, I will totally forget about my foot!!!
I have attached visual aid to show you the specific location of the pain...the tarsometatarsal joint! I am now accepting any free medical advice! ;-)

Please pray my foot feels better soon...like in the morning!!!

A Trip To The Zoo With J and Double H...

Sooo Cute!!!

While the kids were attending their last day of MDO, I ran a million errands, which included a trip to Target. I fell in love with these coordinating outfits!!! They are sooo darling!!!

Off To Enid...

The kids are going to Leonardo's in Enid for their last day of MDO and I have 8 glorious hours of freedom...not to mention silence!!! As I am typing...with no interuptions, I can actually hear the buzzing of the fridge!!! I pray they have a safe, fun trip...why do I always worry when I am blessed with the fab gift of a little bit of free time?!?

Another Treasure...

This was me at 4!!!

Mary Elizabeth Phillips...

Today is my mom's Birthday. She would have been 75 years old. She passed away 14 years ago...most days, it seems like an eternity, but today it seems like yesterday that we were discussing, laughing and celebrating! I found her Birth Certificate this morning looking for a picture. What a treasure!!! Mom, I miss you today as much as I did 14 years ago!!! You were a wonderful mom, friend, and example!!! I love you!!!

This is my dad and mom when my mom was 36 years old! My dad was only 30...what a cradle robber!!! ;-)

Excerpts From Streams In The Desert...

Have you entered the storehouses...which I reserve for times of trouble? Job 38:22-23

Our trials are great opportunities, but all to often we simply see them as large obstacles. If only we would recognize every difficult situation as something God has chosen to prove His love to us, each obstacle would then become a place of shelter and rest, and a demonstration to others of His inexpressible power. If we would look for signs of His glorious handiwork, then every cloud would indeed become a rainbow and every difficult mountain path would become one of ascension, transformation and glorification.

If we would look at our past, most of us would realize that the times of greatest stress and felt that every path was blocked were the very times our heavenly Father chose to do the kindest things for us and bestow His richest blessings.

Only Pretend...

We had a late playdate and the kids curled up infront of the TV to watch a movie. Of course, I could not resist the photo op, but they were not sleeping!!! In 4 days, our friends will begin their new adventure in Amarillo...I wish that was only pretend!!!

Excerpts From Streams In The Desert...

His way is in the whirlwind and the storm. Nahum 1:3

Have you ever asked the Lord to make you like Him? Have you ever desired the fruit of the Spirit and prayed for sweetness, gentleness and love? If so, then never fear the fierce storms that even now may be blowing through your life. Storms bring blessings and rich fruit will be harvested later.

My Dream...

I have saved, saved, saved, given blood, plasma and major organs, sold my kids, bed and major appliances AND AM READY TO BUY MY DREAM CAMERA~a Canon Rebel T1i!!! But, am now totally confused! Should I buy a package, what are the "must haves" and what do you highly recommend regarding lens? I would love any advice as long as it does not further confuse me!!! :-)

-isms...

Gone is the day of cute, funny mispronunciation of words. We are now facing a new era...cold, hard fact...the truth as seen through the eyes of my once precious, innocent children.

Yesterday, while in the restroom, Emme asked, "Mommy, are you pregnant, because your stomach is HUGE?!?"

This morning, Gid said, "Mommy you are good at making mistakes!" I am sure he meant FIXING mistakes!!! ;-)

Excerpts From Streams In The Desert...

Test me in this...and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. Malachi 3:10

God's ability to preform is far beyond our prayers-even our greatest prayers! I have asked for a cupful, while He owns the entire ocean! I have asked for one simple ray of light, while He holds the sun! My best asking falls immeasurably short of my Father's ability to give, which is far beyond what we could ever ask!

TGIM!!!

No one is usually thankful for Monday, but today, I am!!! It is raining outside, the kids are playing, fighting only occasionally and I am curled up here, surrounded by my favorites...my favorite quilt passed down from my grandmother, my new favorite devotional, Streams in the Desert, my journal, our laptop (a must of course), my carry all bag with my Bible, calendar and Breaking Free, a cup of peach tea (sorry Diet Dr. Pepper...I love you too!!!) and the remote with a movie playing...what a day (even if in the 4 minutes it took to write this post, I have been interrupted 7 times!!!)...I love Mondays!!!

The Power of Prayer...

I have been struggling for several weeks with prayer. I know it is important, we are commanded to do it and we are to do it all day and in every situation, but why? Why do it, if God already has a perfect plan? Will my prayers change the will of God?

I read this excerpt from John Piper today...

Now the tremendously important point of this story is seen in the words of Isaiah in Isaiah 37:21-22: "Because you have prayed to Me concerning Sennacharib, King of Assyria, this is the word that the Lord has spoken concerning him."

Because you have prayed! Because you have prayed, 185,000 enemy soldiers lie dead on the plans of Judah.

Think of it! Just think of it. Does prayer win battles?

Hezekiah, because you have prayed, the strongest king in the known world is gone—off the scene of history. Hezekiah, because you have prayed, the witness of my covenant love for David and my zeal for my name has spread throughout the nations.

Because one man prayed.

What A Day!!!

Typically, we have a rather boring life. Our family calendar is a small, 2 Year little book that is always in my bag. Usually, we never have more than one thing planned on any given day. Today, however, was not typical...I had 3 parties in one day and Keith had a totally different schedule! We did not leave town, but I still had to pack!!!

Keith left at 7:45 and at 9:00, the kids and I were out the door. I dropped them off at a fun play place and went to a Going Away Party for my dear friend who is moving to Amarillo. We had a fabulous brunch and a sweet time of fellowship. (I took lots of pics, but with a friends fabulous SLR camera...so, they will be added soon!)

I grabbed the kids at 12:15, had a quick lunch and headed to Phase 2 of Party Madness!!!

My Dad...

On Monday, they admitted my dad into the hospital. 8 years ago, he was diagnosed with cancer; 4 years ago suffered from a massive stroke; and a few months ago he began chemo, when his cancer returned. His journey has been difficult and filled with many bumps, but he is a fighter.

I am sooo thankful that when the phone rang, I could drop everything and join my family. Hospitals are not 5 star hotels, they are smelly and the food is far from fabulous, but I would not have wanted to be anywhere else. I adore my dad and am grateful for an opportunity to be together!!! Please pray for healing, perserverance and many fabulous memories!!!
