Class Valentine’s Day Party…

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!

My Attempt At A Pinterest Project…

I long to be creative, artistic, crafty.  I am, however, none of these.  I love pinterest and the millions of fabulous ideas, projects, recipes.  Valentine’s Day in a foreign country is a bit more challenging.  We can not run to the store and fill our bags with cute, premade card, heart candies and chocolates.  My love for pinterest coupled with my desire to be creative had fabulous intentions!

After finding so many cute possibilities that were not an option, because the lack of available supplies, I found these darling candy cane hearts.  I happen to have boxes of mini-peppermints (thanks to Granny!!!) and lots of chocolate.

I did a trail run on Sunday for our small group and they turned out OK and tasted yummy!!!  I had exactly enough candy canes for both Gid and Emme’s classmates and teachers.  Until…

tragedy struck…

I am a very inexperienced decorator and had a huge piping disaster.  One bag exploded and the other melted!!!

In addition to the huge mess, I knocked 2 candy canes onto the floor shattering them and some how managed to break two more!!!

I found free, color-your-own Valentine’s card on the Internet, since we are out of colored ink!!!  Emme and I successfully, although not beautifully, filled bags for all the students and bought flowers and chocolates for the teachers.

I am so thankful that tomorrow Valentine’s Day will have ended and I will be enjoying a Valentine’s Day massage at a fabulous Spa thanks to my sweet husband!!!

I am thankful that there is no limit to the number of times you can order pizza in a week!!! Also thankful that a new Wii game can turn my kids into playmates and distract them both for hours...maybe even days!!!

When a missionary gets sick...the husband will definitely be out of town and not scheduled to return for a week; the kids will be full of energy and very demanding; everyday you postpone going to the doctor, until one night you find yourself on the tile floor trying to cool off. Once you decide to go to the doctor, they will be booked, but since you live in a country where no prescriptions are needed, you go to the pharmacy and cough (saving money on a doctor's visit). You go home with a supply of medicines, Google them to see what they really do treat, discover you have no idea what the Internet says...so you say a prayer, take the meds and hope that tomorrow is a better day!!!

No Electricity…

What do you do when there is no electricity?!?  Body art!!!

I am still sick. Emme came home early sick. Internet stopped working...then the electricity. When I could no longer stand the dripping coming from my nose, I found an old bottle of nose spray...now I can breath, but my nose feels like it is on fire!!! I am thankful that the sun was shining so we could see, for colored washable markers that the kids used to draw body tattoos and when creativity failed, they had their DSi. Also thankful for another night of delivery!!! Praying tomorrow is a better day!!!
