G00d-Byes…
It amazes me how inseparable kids can be…
Until it comes time to separate…
They just hug, say good-bye and go on!!!
Good-bye Antalya!!! We will miss you!!!

10 Years…
It seems like yesterday, Keith and I were going through the application process, contemplating where God would lead us and wondering what our future would look like. We packed our life into suitcases, said good-bye to our family and landed in Russia on March 1, 2002. Even though it took us more than a year to arrive in Russia, it only took me a matter of minutes to begin doubting what we had done!!! Without reliving the many tears I have shed, Plan Bs I have contemplated, trials I have encountered and time I have prayed that God would give us a “normal” life, I have officially been a missionary for 10 years!!! I rejoice in the work God is doing in my life and family and pray that I will serve Him faithfully for many more years!!!
A Requirement…
I made Emme take a 2 second break from non-stop playing to take a picture. She is loving every minute she gets to be with friends!!!

8 More Years…
In just 8 more years…this could be us!!! We could be recognizing Gideon as a graduate!!! Normally, that would mean a fun celebration with family and friends and a new journey that may not even require a change of address or packing a bag!!! For an MK, it means packing your life in a couple of suitcases, saying good-bye to your parents, Missionary family and all of your friends, leaving your home, traveling at least 8 time zones to begin the new phase of life!!! Honestly…I am already terrified!!!
I have been in shock, mourning and contemplating how to avoid the fact that in only 2 more years, Gid will qualify as a “Youth” and can travel to MK Retreats in different countries and stay with other youth during our Conferences!!! Please pray I would not worry or fear the future, but would trust God who has a fabulous plan for Gid!!!

Day 5…Our Conference Begins
We changed hotels yesterday for our annual retreat of rest, reflection and renewal with fabulous friends from all over Europe. Emme is having such a fun time I have only seen her for brief moments at meals and before bed. Gid is much more like his introverted dad and longs for time to play his DS or watch TV. The weather is fabulous, the scenery is gorgeous and I cherish every second of time with friends!!! Pray this week is filled with sunshine, laughter, rest and renewal!!!
