We are not an athletic family.  Our adventurous usually include coffee, relaxing and minimal amounts of walking.  After 150 minutes of watching soccer in the hot sun, I was tired.  Emme was exhausted.  We grabbed dinner and then went to our monthly Game Night.  Gid, Emme and a friend were playing outside and Emme accidentally fell {Gid’s perspective}…Gid deliberately shoved Emme into a huge pile of dirt and broken glass and was happy about it {Emme’s perspective}.  Either way…Emme has a gash on her knee, scraps on both and went to bed totally worn out.  My adventurous, outgoing, on-the-go girl asked to stay home today, missing an opportunity to go to the Medieval Fair.  Loving any reason to be at home, but bummed to be missing out!!!  Sent Keith and Gid off with a camera!!!

There Is Nothing Good About Byes!!!

I just realized that if I was to redo this picture next year, Emme would be standing alone!!! The absolute worst part of missionary life is saying good-bye.

It is super hard to tell your family good-bye, but you know you will see them again and lots over the years {unless something horrible happens, but you seriously can not go there!}.

Saying good-bye to those who have become {like} family during the dark days, holidays, celebrations...those you see each morning and afternoon at school, you have coffee with, play dates, carpools...those who daily cheer you on, cheer you up, encourage you, love you, hold you accountable and go the extra mile for you...when you say good-bye to those, you comfort yourself by saying, "Oh we will see you again soon!" but down deep you know that may not be true.

In 5 days, we must say good-bye to two families who have become family to my family...and let me just say...I can't think of anything that is good in that bye!!!

Birthday Celebration!!!

Keith burst out laughing when I said I was going rock climbing.  I am not an athlete.  I need a nap after vacuuming my tiny apartment.  But I did it.  I did not make it all the way to the top.  A sweet employee told me exactly where to put my hands and feet.  It was not pretty or graceful.  And I am so thankful that I can laugh at myself…and edit out my backside!!!

Gid asked if this was me…love his faith in my abilities!

Happy Birthday Blythe!!!
