Off To Church...

For some reason, the 2 little Sullivans wanted to go to Church this morning. I know I should rejoice, but honestly I was a little reluctant. Since Friday, Gideon has been sick and very clingy, which has also brought out the need for attention in ME...not to mention an unusual amount of energy and focus on self...since the World does revolve around her...or so she thinks! I was honestly looking forward to a break from them!

We arrived 10 minutes early and filed into the pew. The kids looked darling as people greeted them and told them how much they had grown and how well behaved they were. Before the sermon had begun, they both had their shoes off, had inspected (and attempted to color in) every book and piece of literature with in arms reach, explored my purse for hidden treasures, complained of hunger pains (Gideon hasn't eaten in 2 days, but is now starving!), thirst, etc. and were now in the floor, crawling under the pews~ME managing to wiggle her way into the isle, starring up at the pastor like a little angel watching cartoons on Saturday morning! When I finally reached my limit, I took ME into the hallway, which brought about screams of, "I don't want to go! I'll be good!" When we returned to the Sanctuary after a discussion on "How one is to behave in Church"...as if she didn't already know, she managed to sit quietly for the remaining 15 minutes.

When it was time to give the offering, we had to ask the man to return, because we were having difficulty removing her offering from the small holes in the pew that are intended to hold the wine for the Lord's Supper. After finally placing the $0.78 in the offering, she shouts, "I did it!" If only, I could learn to give with that much enthusiasm!
