My Dad...
My dad started chemo today. In 2001, when I was hugely (and I mean HUGE!!!) pregnant with Gid, he was diagnosed with Multiple Mylomea, a rare bone marrow cancer that had taken the life of my mom just 6 years earlier. This began his long journey of chemo, radiation, trips to Little Rock to the Mylomea Institute, a stem cell transplant, a million shots, tests and consults. In January of 2005, his cancer appeared to be in "remission"...my dad looked fabulous riding on his Harley and loving life. While on Stateside that year, we were able to spend a month with him, once again hugely pregnant with ME, before he had a major stroke. God granted us another miracle and he beat horrible odds and survived. Over the last 4 years, he has learned to adjust to life with new limitations. He is a fighter and has persevered and made amazing accomplishments. This past month, we discovered that his cancer has returned and the fight begins again!
Please pray for my dad and his sweet wife, Barbara, who has been by his side through it all. She has been his nurse, chauffeur, maid, cook and best friend. Please pray that the Lord would once again grant a miracle and heal my dad. Pray that Barbara would have the energy, strength, and wisdom to handle all life is pouring out on her. Pray that my family would be filled with peace and joy during this difficult time.

I will include your Dad (and family) in my prayers. I hope he beats this cancer again! You must be glad to be near him during this difficult time.
