Camera Test…

This week I have fallen in love with my new camera, the Canon Rebel T1i…someone said, “That’s a perfect camera for you, a Rebel!”  While chatting with a very dear friend this week, we began discussing the camera and she shocked me when she said, “I think the pictures with your old camera are better.”  It really challenged me to evaluate my very difficult and expensive decision.

Sooo, I decided to let the cameras speak for themselves with a little photo competition.  Emme volunteered to be my assistant, model and selected this fabulous on-sight location…in front of a door!

In the original picture, with no cropping or alterations, it is somewhat of a challenge to see a huge difference in the quality.

In the following pictures, however, the difference is clear…and so is the dirty face!!!

It is not the norm to need to crop a picture to this extreme, but this shows a huge difference.  My old camera was only 5 megapixels and my new is 15!  Sooo, if I ever need to…I can!!!

There are other differences in the cameras that are not as obvious or necessary, when your model is being sweet, still and cooperative!!!  But, the new camera takes instant pictures, where my old camera had a significant delay.  There is also a major difference in the quality in low light situations, but those are tests for another post!

I am still very much in love and so thankful that I had the blessing of my sweet hubby…even though I found out today that we don’t have to tell each other everything we do…which is a post for another day!!! :-)

Well I guess you can photograph butterflies with this camera CLOSE UP. And how often do you do that??? ;-) The fast shutter and good quality for low light are great though.
