Too Tall!!!

Gideon is turning 8...in 19 days!!! However, we are at Granny's now!!! There are so many reasons to celebrate...a week at Granny's, the end of summer, school starting and Gideon is turning 8 and growing up soooo fast!!! Even though you see someone everyday, it seems like they grow-up all of the sudden!!! At the fair, Gideon was actually TOO BIG to ride some of the rides!!! One of the Ride Controllers stopped me and asked how tall Gid is...I shrugged and replied, "I don't know...this tall" and placed my hand on his head.

He said, "He is too tall."

I honestly had no idea what he was talking about! Too tall?!? He is perfect! Just do your job and let the kids get on the ride!

After he stopped Gid and again said, "He is too tall!" It finally dawned on me...he is too tall for the ride!!! I almost stood there and cried!!! I am seriously holding back the flood gates right now!!! My baby boy, who I rocked, cuddled, comforted, watched him dress himself, tie his own shoes, witnessed his first steps, first words, first day of school, ride his bike without training wheels...he is too big to ride the little kid rides any more...because he is no longer a little kid!!! We have been shopping in the big boy department for 2 years, but I just realized Gid IS a big boy!!! That is definitely a reason to celebrate!!!
